Default Tach Not Working

Hi All-

I have a 74 and the tach does not work. I was told by someone that since the radio was replaced it may have bypassed the circuit in the dash wiring and is causing the tach not to work and that I may need to rewire the dash. I was wondering if this could be correct or is it most likely another issue. Any ideas out there?

My guess is the tach cable is shot.
The ends ware off and thats all she wrote.
Cables are cheap just a pain to install.
I think I posted the step by step to replace the cable a couple of years ago on this site.

Yep the cable was shot but the back of the tach housing was also broken. Guess I should just replace the whole tach.

You need to get manuals for your Vette. You can get them year specific.
I got mine from Ecklers.

Ecklers repairs instruments etc.
Give them a call this way you can keep your Vet original.

Yeah I was looking at that service. I may just do that. I'd like to keep it as original as possible.
