Default Thompson astro top

Has anyone purchased a Thompson astro top for thier vette? The price is not out of site and I'm looking for a replacement for my T-tops. Does it fit snugly and does it allow wind noise? I am worried about if the lexan flexesor vibrates when the car is up to speed at 60mph or higher. I have a 1982 vette, so I would liketo know your experiences with this item so I can decide.

Thanks

I bought one about 2 yrs ago, and it was great. They even included some extra hardware for the back clamp adjustment. Unfortunately, the first time I put it on after I got my car back from paint, it cracked down the middle. There are tabs that go into the T slots, clamps for the back, and thumbscrews for the front corners, bending it just an inch or so to slide it into the T slots and *snap*. Bummer, I liked it alot. Haven't decided whether to get a new one or not... perhaps it got a tad brittle sitting in the sun over the summer, and with the colder weather... Oh well.

No wind noise, no leaks, great gasket material around the edges, and a very cool design. Best part for me, it gives me extra headroom (I'm 6'5").

bill.

Thanks for your reply, I hope others give me positive info on it as well. I think it would be a good piece of equipment to replace the t-tops with.

Thanks again
