Default Thompson Astro Tops

My 90 Coupe needs a new top. After getting prices everywhere from $800. up to $1200. I found a company on line called Thompson Astro Tops http://www.astrotops.com/ I called the company and got the following prices

Top = $485
Shipping = $90.
Core Charge = $250.
Return Shipping = $90.

Which would be about $950 initial outlay and $700 after core return. Then i realized they are only about 2 hours from me, and they stated that if I drive down and do the immediate exchange and no shipping, they would hook me up for $450 Cash out the door.

Has anyone ever had any dealings with Thompson Astro Tops? before I drive for 2 hours and hand them cash then drive 2 hours home, I would like to know something about them. It's certainly worth the drive to save the money and it gives me an excuse to go for a cruise, but I hate to go in blind......

Just got back from Thompsons and I am pleasantly pleased with the new top. It ended up costing $550 as he charges $50 for the weather stripping on each side if the old ones have any cracks or chips in them. The new top comes complete with all new hardware and weather Stripping. If you deal direct with them they will install and adjust for proper fit otherwise you will have to have it adjusted for proper fit.
