Timing for a 72 454?

Great that expaines it now! All I have to do is eliminate those wires and run a 12 volt source from the fuse block that hasa full 12 voltsin the start andrun position. Guess I could try and trace the red wire back and run a 12 guage wire like the instructions say.

Just replace the resistance wire with a 12 ga wire and you should then have 12V on the coil both in Run & Start.

Hope this helps... J= October, 17=17th day, 1=1971, clock at 2= 2pm. This should be located on the flange behind the manifold above the bellhousing on the passenger side. On the other side should be the block casting number 3999289 if it is the original block for the car. On the stamp pad in front of the passenger rocker cover will be part of the vin with a letter suffix code: CPH was for 4 spds.
