At idle you have high manifold vacuum and also at steady cruise you have high manifold vacuum, at the moment you floor it, you have no manifold vacuum then when you reach steady cruise your vacuum again comes into play.

More likely a bad accelerator pump or power piston (Q-jet)/power valve (if Holley). Bad ignition system could possibly cause this as the heavy load placed on the engine will require a higher voltage for the plugs.

Hi again, if yourVette trys to stall when you floor it, do like 73shark and C3 Starship said, look at the carb. When you floor it the accelerator pump in the carb should shoot two streems of extra gas in. Remove the air cleaner and move the throttle and see if that happends. PG.

Hey guys thanks for the awesome advice once again. I really do not know what I'd do without you all. I did the timing today and everything works like a charm again. It turned out my timing was about 20* off. The last time I did the timing I didn't have to worry about taking the hose off first since it was an electronic distributor and it was all done internally.
