Hi and welcome again, a book that will help you is the " Corvette Assembly Manual " it has drawings of how all the parts of our cars go together. You can get it from any of the catalog companys, or like Texas Jim said, tell us your year and someone will help, PG.

It's a '73.

www.ecklers.com has the assembly manual.
You can order it for your specific year of Vette.

C3 and PG are right. I bought an assembly manual for my 68 Camaro and it was well worth the money. Got one on the way for my Vette now. Another one you might find helpful along the way is the Chassis Service Manual available from the same sources as the assembly manual. I've also got a book published my Motorbooks called 'Chevrolet Corvette Restoration Guide' which covers some of the common problems with a lot of photograhs and drawings.

Is it a non-air car? If so, then the kick panel vents are controlled by a lever connected to a Bowden cable. Air cars used a vacuum actuator.

The plastic tabs on the cable housing screw up to the bottom of the console. There is a metal strip that runs across the width of the console with threaded holes on each side. You have to remove the console plate toattach them. They will be a bear to reach.
