1985 fuel leak
Bought the car with a slight fuel leak and it looked like it was the rear drivers side injector seeping around the upper O-ring. Changed the injectors (what a pain) and found it probably wasn't leaking where I though. Fuel appears to be leaking from the rear of the fuel rail from the connection to the, I'm guessing, fuel return line. It's tight, so my question is there an o-ring in this connector? Would appreciate your help, I'm at my wits end!
While it is probably an O-ring, you'll probably have to disconnect it to find out. But you're probably going to have to disconnect it to diagnose it anyway. If it is an O-ring, be sure you get one that is tolerant of today's alcohol contaminated fuel.
Thanks for the reply, Stopped by NAPA yesterday and they show a "fuel rail o-ring" set, so I got them to order one, came in this morning and there are several 'o-rings' in the box, so the fuel rail assembly has many of them. Looks like I found the fix. Again, thanks for assisting! Maybe I will get to drive the car after all.
