1986 won't start

1986 won't start
Had to change fuel pump, getting good pressure. Engine cranks but won't start. Check Engine light stays on. When using a code reader only getting a code 12. Tried disconnecting TPS, won't quite start, alot of popping though. Could PROM be bad on ECM?

Welcome to the forum. Why did you have to change the fuel pump?
An engine needs three things, fuel, air, and spark. Since you seem to have fuel pressure although I don't know what you mean by good pressure. I guess you could either pull an injector or a spark plug and see if you're actually getting fuel in the cylinder. The next thing to check would be to see if you're getting spark.
