Default 1990 auto tranny overdrive shifting?

I was reading some previous posts in the forum and saw some threads about shifting into and out of overdrive. My vette is a 1990 L98. I don't know what type of tranny is in it but I have a 1,2,3,d,and od shift points on my shifter. Myquestion is should I be shifting this from "d" to "od" from time to time? Also should I worried about ruining my transmission? Thanks for the help.

I just put mine in OD and let it shift as it sees fit. Works for me.

Well, I've never heard anthing about running in OD except for towing in OD is a no-no. The tranny is designed to shift at the right time so I believe it is fine to let it. Maybe Mech259 will chime in and give us the skinny on it. Cheers

Happy New Year!!
