Auto Transmission Shifting Wrong
Hey everybody, new to the corvette world. I picked up a 2000 C5 and love it, the only thing i regret is the auto transmission. The shifts were very firm and the car ran consistent 13.6's at the strip. Driving normally, there are no problems, but lately, at WOT it wont up shift on time. When it does upshift, it shifts very firm. At around 50mph when floored, it revs free and then several seconds later it pops firmly into gear.I dont think it is a mechanical problem. The local aamco swapped out the throttle position sensor, for $200, claiming the $37 TPS at autozone was a 3 pin connector and wouldn't work. This helped initially, but now it is as bad as ever. It doesn't feel like the transmission is slipping at all. Whenit does shift, it shifts great. What could cause the transmission to not go into gear, and then when it does, not shift in time?
I took it back in today and took their mechanic out for a ride. He agrees that it doesn't feel like a mechanical problem, but wasn't pulling any codes either. I noticed that as it climbs higher in rpm it will shift as soon as you let off the gas, but if you don't let off the gasit won't shift into second until 4000 rpm. What controls the transmission electronically?
