was wondering if anyone might know what might be makin this noise when i got the car it has a winein noise when you are sitting there with the car out of gear and clutch out , when u mash clutch it it stops i thought it was something to do with the clutch so after i replaced it when it was bad i put new one in and i still have same noise cant figure if its natural for it to make the winein noise was wonder if anyone had any ideas

 

This car would be about the same as my 92 6 speed, I do not have anything I would describe as a whine noise, but a lot of gear rattle in neutral with the clutch out is normal for this car. If you have a whine inneutral at a stop with the clutch out, it probably is a bad bearing in the transmission, probably the input bearing where the shaft goes into the transmission, it will only be turning with the clutch released.
