I am hoping to purchase a 1995 Corvette Hatchback with 6 speed. It has 88K in miles and is in overall good shape. Only one top color of car - red with good tires and great apperance. The motor runs fine but the Water Temp seems to be high - ran at approx 200 degrees while driving when outside temp in 60's. The ditigal readout would show "sys" it looked like and then the coolant temp. I don't know what this means - any help is appreciated. The owner wants 10600.00 does this sound fair. The car appears to be in good shape and he is very forthcoming with info he has. He only owned for approx 1 year - put 3K miles while he owned and then purchased a C5 2003 model with Automatic. Also he say's the bearings in 6 spd are roaring but I really couldn't pick it up but might be throwout bearing. I ran a carfax and all appears OK.

My '94 runs at about those temps. As for the SYS, does it blink 3 time then go away for a 10 seconds, only to to come back and blink 3 more times? Mine does just that. Does the car have an after-market radio. I have come across a few other owners with aftermarket radios as well as me, and they have this same SYS light flashing. I believe the temp. readout can be changed to volts or gas miles per gallon or oil temp if it is the same as mine. I have been told these cars are good up to around 230 degrees.

 

Our '92 Coupe runs at 193-196 degrees.

Paid $10.7K in October, decent shape as far as I can tell. Certainly nowhere near perfect, but does look and run nice!
