Default 1996 wheel hop

My 1996 convertible has significant wheel hop. New tires did not help. New balance of tires did not help. Has 76,000 miles. I suspect wore out front shocks. Any other thoughts would be appreciated.

What exactly are you meaning by wheel hop? Out-of-balance wheel? Can you get vids of it doing this?

Vettes don't have true wheel hop - in the original sense of 'wheel hop', since they have independent rear suspension.

Wheel hop in the original sense, was the ENTIRE rear axle trying to rotate like a giant propeller under the car, because of torque, and it happens at launch. One end of the rear axle would be driving down into the track, and the other end would would be trying to raise into the air (while spinning the wheel also, and coming back down, and 'hopping'). This is because the axles halves are 'fixed', from one end to the other.

Little ricer youngin's say they have 'hop', but they don't really have hop, because the front shafts are independent, kind of like vettes.

When they bounce and new tires and rebalancing don't help,it's about 99% that you have bent wheel(s).
