1. my 1985, when at operating temp. sometimes the starter won't turn over, after sitting for 10-20 minutes she turns over fine. i know my clutch needs some adjusting, could it be the clutch or the starter needing replacement. 2. my tail light fuse keeps blowing, as soon as i put it in it blows. i know there's a short but which way do the wires run. passenger side fuse box to light switch to rear tail lights, please verify. 3. my 4+3 shifts fine 1st thru 4th but in reverse she will hardly move. how do you adjust the clutch linkage to correct this issue. any info greatly appreciated

 

Your #1 issue mentioned *might* be due to a bad starter solenoid. I unfortunately don't know about your other 2 questions, but I am 1000% confident one of our fearless tech's will be along shortly to help you out there.

On the starter problem, your culprit is the clutch safety switch, I had the same problem. What I did, I just bypassed the switch with a wire jumperin the plug.

 

you hard starting when warm problem might also be a bad ground. you might consider taking the ground off and cleaning the ends or replacing the cable(s)

 

About your taillights...check the wires at the bulb receptacle, there might be a wire strand touching the other wire, thereby shorting it.
