88 vette-engine misses & sputters
HELP!!! PLEASE!! My 88 corvette got water in gas tank. I drained tank 2 times, put new fuel filter, new distributor cap, new plugs, new wires, new rotor, added fuel additives(high dollar), and the engine still won't run properly. It misses and spits and just will not run. What can I do now? I am at a total loss.
Hi slobbering_walrus, and welcome to the forums.
I would say that after draining the tank two times, and all the other things you've done, I would pretty much rule out water in the gas being your problem.
I guess to start with, is your check engine light coming on? The first thing I would do is check is the fuel pressure, it should be around 30 to 35 psi. It would be a good starting point in finding your problem.
BTW...I'm curious, how did you discover you had water in the tank?

I would check the plugs then the injectors. Are you sure your getting constant fuel pressure when its running?

My worst fear! The injectors are not old, but if they are fried?? I am curious about the guy who fried his. This could be my problem. I have not check fuel pressure. Could my fuel strainer be stopped up?
