Default 96LT1 heat problem

hello, i'm new to this forum and i have my first problem/question to pose to anyone who might know.
my 96 has the digital ac/heat system, and when i adjust the temp to warm temperatures a don't get
the heat i was getting a short time ago. could this be a thermostat problem on the motor, or is there
another problem i may be having. any tips would help, i like to work on my own as much as possible, and
i'm fairly mechanical. thanks for any and all help on this......

Could be a couple of problems - your temp control door is controlled by the a/c programmer. Seen programmers go bad, seen actuators go bad. Is your engine operating temp staying the same? If it is, then I would probably suspect the programmer.

thank you, the engine temp seems to be stable, i checked to make sure there
was plenty of coolant to circulate in the system. how difficult is it going to be
for me to try to find/fix this problem, if i can at all. thanks......

If it's the actuator like mech said, there's some pics of the actuator in a GM 's' vehicle here:

Access I imagine will be a little different...

happy b-day cwb, thanks for the input. if gettin to it is anything like my 73stingray i know it's all going
to have to come aprat to get at it. wish i could go through the glove box like the blazer, but i'd much
rather be toolin around in my vette than the blazer, been there, done that. guess i'll suffer through this
till i get it figured out. thanks again for the tips.....
