Air Cond Problem
My 87 Vette has an air-conditioning problem, or rather I do. The two buttons, one red the other blue on the console is/are the problems. The red one (warmer) works fine; it shows the warmer temperatures. The blue one, when I press it, does not move the temperature range at all. Is there a fix for this other than getting a new console, which I would rather not do. Your help is much appreciated. Thanks.
You could remove the control unit and open it up and make sure the contacts inside are clean and making contact. Mine was flickering and hesitating to work at times , so I dissassembled it and clean it and lifted the tiny contacts up so they would make a better contact when it slide back together. Just be careful there very small and easy to damage. If that doesn't work, I would look at replacing the unit
Thank you very much blue87conv; I'll do just that. My Vette is an 87 white/blue conv as well. Looking for a pair of good seats for it and are hard to find. Do you know of a good "bone yard" for Vettes which would possibly have seats and used ground effects. Looking for a front valance. Thanks again.
