will the radio from a 1984 work on a 1988?

 

Yep, I'm pretty sure it will. I believe they kept the same radio chassis up till the year they changed away from the digital dash layout.

 

Are you talking about the Head Unit (Reciever) or the speakers and everything? I actually believe that all of that stayed the same for the most part. I think the only change from 84 to 88 was the antenna. You might want to check up on the wiring harness though. If those arent the same and you try to do a direct replacement, you might have big problems.

 

if the antenna is different, those GM adapters are cheap and readily available. you could probably even find it at wal-mart lol
