Buying C4 Corvette and have some questions
Greetings. I'm new here and considering buying a 1990 Corvette and have some questions. Thanks in advance for any insights or knowledge you can share about this classic. Will be my first Corvette and I'm excited!
Edited: Questions all asked and answered. Basically I was looking at a non-stock modified L98 motor that had been modified at some unknown point to add LT1 headers and other parts. I was very confused and at first it seemed like a good car but lots of dialogue here along with the carfax steered me away.

Welcome to the forum.
Since it appears to have an aftermarket performance HEI system, then probably no OptiSpark. Since it has headers and a breather cap on the valve cover, I'm guessing most, if not, all of the emission controls have been removed. Not sure how the ECM handles that unless reprogrammed.
Need to know what the oil capacity is with the deep pan so you can check the accuracy of the dipstick. Then you can drain and fill w/ the prescribed amount and check the dipstick. Is the oil lite indicating low oil or low oil pressure?
Any chance the current owner can identify the previous owner so you can track down this "mystery engine"?
The waves in the rear plastic bumper cover come w/ age and it will also get very brittle with age. Is it a repaint?
The left front wheel seems to have a lot of alignment shims but not sure if that indicates a problem. An alignment check could tell you.
You can check the clutch by trying to start in 4th gear to see if it seems to slip excessively.
There are a lot of Corvette aftermarket suppliers of parts like weatherstripping, interiors, and parts like brakes. Some of these are Zip Products, Al Knoch, MidAmerica Motorworks, Ecklers, Vette Brakes Products, Wilcox, Paragon, etc.to name a few. I'm sure Bing or DuckDuckGo could yield more.
Not sure about C5 seats fitting. Probably could but might requiring fabbing some brackets.
