Default Dash Replacement

I just bought a used dash top from a low mileage vette and I want to replace it with my cracked one. Does anyone have any advise on how to install the dash ? Do I have to remove all of the plastic trim and dash pad before installing it?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

No, I'm talking about the 84-89. So your saying I can Just pull the dash out without removing anything else? What about the front bolts ? Where are they located and do I need to take them off before pulling the dash out ?

Ok. On my car its the flat dash. I hope thats what your talking about....If not ignore what I am saying. On the front of the dash like where your at theres bolts right underneath it. Mine are busted though so my dash just sits there by the pressure frmo the windshield. You may have to wiggle it out BUT be gentle! It should move freely on the front once you get all the bolts undone. Wish I was there or had pics....make it alot easier to explain. Maybe someone else can put it in better words.[&:]

The dash pad is pretty durable. It is made of compressed styrofoam with the skin heat shrunk and glued to the foam. Pulled mine several times. 2 screws on the top at the defrost vent, 2 screws over the radio, 3 or four over the cluster and it slides out. [8D]
