Default Door Lock

Help! After finishing a repair on my passenger side door panel today, I put panel back on and closed the door and now seems to be locked and unable to open. Could the rod for the door lock be in a bind? Also, will a locksmith be able to unlock the door? Have not had this issue with a Vette, so don't know for sure if procedure would be the same. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

My only thought is that those things are tricky and maybe you didnt put the rod back correctly. I had a lot of problems with mine when i put it back together too. It took me a couple hours to get it right lol. Then again, im a moron.

Thanks guys. Maybe I forgot to mention that the door is closed and apparently locked. Think I can get it open with a coat hanger? I hope so! Again, thanks.

Key won't unlock the door? The rod probably came out of latch. Again, what year model is this? Mid 80's, the rod may be out of the little slide in the door panel or the latch is broke.
