Emergency brake problems on 91 C4
I was told I need new rear calipers for my 91 to make my emergency brake function. I have not had my rear wheels off to have a look myself. The cost for this repair will be about 360bucks. My question is, is this a difficult job for me to do myself? I am somewhat mechanically inclined. I was told the emergency brake has it's own set of pistons in the caliper? Has anyone tackled this job? Thanks, Jay
yes it is not hard at all to do.just make shure that you bleed the calipers when you are done installing them. you will need two people ane to bleed and the other to pump the brake pedal.have him pump 8 times and hold foot on break.then you crack the bleader open and air will come out. you will want to repeat this step till just brake fluid comes out.and make shure that you keep the master cyclinder full wile you blead the brakes.you can also pick up some self bleaders to. at any auto parts store.
