RE: fuel pump relay
so i was thinking about it and if it were leaky injectors would it still start up in the mornings on the first turnover? Cause if i let it sit overnight and go out there it starts up on the first try. But i also know that it should be starting right at the turn of the key, like it use to.

Hi dfwgsx. yea mine does, and I know I have at least two leaking. A cold engine likes a rich fuel mixture. It's onlyafterI've been driving it a while, and then let it set for 30 minutes or so is when it has to turn over several times before it catches. I can smell the rich exhaust too.
Can you hear the fuel pump when you turn the key on?

Leakin' injectors will allow fuel to drip into the ports, then run into the cylinders, until the residual pressure of the fuel in the fuel line is relieved. In the AM, the cold motor will still start right away. In the summertime, a hot motor might hesitate to re-start, depending how long its been off.
Get someone to pull the trigger for ya', while ya' watch the exhaust, on a cold AM start-up. A heavy black puff, for a moment, is a leaky injector(s).

yep defintely a puff of black smoke and my tips of my exhaust are turning black as well. While the car is running will leaky injectors make it run rich as well? Also what would be the correct fuel injectors for it such as 24lb or 26 lb, 28lb etc. Its a 95 lt1 vette

I'm sure cwb knows more about this than I do, but I think they came stock with 22lb, he can correct me if I'm wrong. From what I understand, 24lb will work on a stock motor too, but would probablydo better on a slightly modified motor. Plus, I think the aftermarket 24lb are cheaper than the factory 22lb.
