Default Fuel smell from open line engine bay

PROBLEM SOLVED THREAD CAN BE CLOSED

Hello, I drive an 87 C4. I already had an account on this forum but forgot the e-mail and password I used, that's why this is my first post. Please excuse my English I am not from the US.

My car was at the workshop today. There was a fuel smell coming from the left rear wheel well. The mechanic diagnosed a broken hose leading to the charcoal vapor canister which was fixed and there was no more fuel smell. When I arrived home (150 mile drive) I noticed an even stronger fuel smell but this time coming from the engine bay. I located it to an open line which makes a hissing/burbling/boiling sound for about 5 minutes after I turn the engine off and emits a very strong fuel smell. When I put my finger on it and block the line both the smell and sound are gone. I wiped the opening and there was gas on the paper towel.

Can you tell me what line it is? (please see attached pictures below)
Is it okay to block the opening and forget it?

I am very thankful for any advice.

Thank you
