gear swap question
I bought an 1985 corvette and very proud owner at that, so much i bought a lot lot nicer 1995 corvette two months later. now my question now is since i decided to only keep my '95 vette,(btw, both of mine are auto trans) I think, correct me if im wrong, the rear end gear in my '85 is a 307, and the gear in my '95 is a 254ish. would i be able to swap them no problem at all, as far as direct fit? if so what would i need other than gaskets and fluid?
p.s. I am proud to be part of the brotherhood of the corvette family

RE: gear swap question
Even if they fit, it is quite and undertaking to change the complete housing. It would involve pulling axles, which alone is fairly tedious, and the unbolting all the mounts, spring, track bars to accomplish this task. Also, your 95 have a 4L60 trans, which is a later version of the 700r in you 85, which may have different final drive ratios.
