Default Headlight motors, staying running

When I turn on my lights after they have already flipped around and are setting there the motors keep spinning and clicking for about 4 or 5 seconds, I'm pretty sure there not supposed to keep doing that, and it happens both when I turn them on and when I turn them off, the adjustercaps are just spining and spinning? Never remember any of my old C4's or the C5 doing it. Any ideas?

Sounds like gears, probably the plastic ones. I guess you have read about replacing them with the brass gears.

Thanks Bill and c4force were the ones you found the same price?
Is there anything more it needs , how about a renewal kit or just the gears .
I'll be back in town tonight so right now I can't look at the manual.

Just replaced my gears today. Wasn't too bad of a job. I used the nylon gears though. Had to use a gasket sealer on one side becuse the gasket was too dry and brittle.
