for no reason at all i can hear my headlights cycling.not opening or closing but the motors are running. when i pop the hood to look it stops everytime.i left the hoo open while i was working on another car and it never acted up.i do think i need to replace the headlight gears.they will wind up with the ***** with no problem.has this happened to anyone?

 

Replace with metal gears and you shouldn't have to do it again. The gears are stripped and you are hearing the motors not reaching limit switch.
