help C4 hood id? what year?
Although I can't give you an exact year, I can narrow it down for you. 84-90 have two vertical vents behind the wheel wells. They look like fish gills. 91-94 have four vents with strakes going back from the vent opening. 95-96 are similar but the strakes aren't as long. Hope this helps.
Correct me if I am wrong, but the vents are not part of the hood. I have an 84 and the vents are below the hood in a separate panel. Is the 84 hood different from the others? I have wondered about this myself.
Can anyone tell me where to buy the bulbs that go in the dash cluster? The side of my cluster that houses the tach is dark, so I took it apart and found two of the larger bulbs to be bad. They were not blackened, but I used a strong magnifying glass and could see the break in the element. I think 2 new bulbs will solve this problem. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.
You are correct. the vents are separate. Don't know what I was thinking. Silly me. The l parking/ fog light openings may be different. Or, you could check with the Chevy dealer near you.

The '84 hood is unique. It has the internal passages that deliver air to the openings in the crossfire air cleaner housing. Then (I think) in '86 the hood support changed from the somewhat troublesome mechanical wonder to hydraulic struts, which may have caused differences in the built in fasteners. That's all I know!
