How much power do I have?
86 vette Auto.
K&N, cut lid, gutted precats, removed main cat, true dual, no mufflers just straight tips, power coupler, descreened maf, 160 thermostat, Eddlebrock waterpump, Becool radiator, AC delco Rapid fire plugs, Accell spark plug wires, Air foil, new suspension, stage 1 weight reduction, ZR1 Rims, My timing is set at 10*, The block was rebuilt, transmission was rebuilt from another veichle. Optima battery, Synthetic oil**always**, BF Goodrich Pro-Force Tires, removed the "air silencer", new distribtor**supposedly adds a hoter spsark**, Regular maintenance....So am I 300 hp or even close??? I can run with a 2000 SVT cobra from a stoplight so I must have something..Any input is appreciated

Oh, bro, I don't mean to rain on your parade, but I'm pretty sure you aren't at 300 there. These babies are sporting about ~240 from the factory, and the changes you've made there (unless I missed something in the intake portion of your mod list; i.e. new heads/intake) won't give you that much. I am bettin' you're looking at about ~250 - ~255.
BUT! Don't forget the 340 ft lbs of torque, dude. That's a mountain full. In our generation Corvette's it's the torque, not the hp, that give it all that grunt it's got. An' man; it's got a boat load.

Hello again. The '86 Vette was rated at 230 HP,aluminum heads, iron heads, did not matter. From what you say,you MAY be pushing 300HP,but I'm not quite sure, you never know. One thing about Corvette engines, they always respond to modifications a lot better than any GM motor, simply because, yes,it was installed in a Vette.Let us never forget the great low end and mid-rpm torque the L-98 has always had,and you may have improved on that by quite a bit! But,whatever you do to your Vette, please, always be careful about driving it.There's always a time and a place to enjoy your car,it's always up to you to use your judgement.I do NOT want anybody getting a little too carried away just because they added something new to their car.Always enjoy, but always be careful,ok?.Don't forget about your torque!!!! There's plenty in the L-98!!!!!!
um ok? About every vette on this forum will whip my @$$ up down left and right. LOL. I already went thru one vette. I think im good for a lifetime. One He!! of a crash. I was just wondering. I really dont care becuz there cheap stuff. Id just assume save up for a crate motor dump it in there with some heads and a cam and be done. Dont care what others think. Take it to the track and the **** with everyone else.
Well I was suppose to race the SRT-4 but he "claimed" hehad to pick up his parents from work. For some reason I dont believe that as they have a very nice house a hottub out back and he drives a very expensive car and JUST SOLD his old Z28 camaro. So yea, w/e thats y theres no video.
I win by Default. Kinda sux when you think about it.
