I just bought from MidAmerica a Hypertech Power Tuning Module... i read the directions and i think even a monkey like me with only a few hand tools can figure out how to put it on. My question is that they give you everything you need and all the directions you need, EXCEPT where to mount the box.

there is a picture of it... as you can see, that cord isnt all that long and you have to plus the gray wire harness into the back of the box and on the 94's there isnt all that much room. So, if anyone has any suggestions on where to put the d**n thing, please let me know

 

I dont know the answer to your question, i would assume just mount it out of the way.

But I'm curious: I assume that this box just a tune for your vette, common to what a tuner would do for a stock setup. So if you were to do a major mod like new heads or cam, something that would require a tune, would this box be pointless? (sorry, didnt mean to hijack the thread)

 

See, i am not exactly positive, but what the manual says is that because it is an older car it has probably lost substantial power from the early years of its existence. This module is really to just bring out the most power from what your engine has, with a few extra perks (i.e. Quicker throttle response,improved acceleration, and better gas mileage). I would assume though that even though this is a tuning mod, it is the same as with any other mod. Adding extra power to your car wouldnt cancel this out. I would think it would help it get the most out of what you have done to the car. i could be wrong though.

haha... nope. it is really a problem because the wire is just short enough to where you have to mount it RIGHT next to the dang thing. I wanna just get another wire harness where i can extend it but im assuming its not that simple

haha... well i STILL havent found a place to put it yet joe... I would love to tell you wether it was a waste of money or a good investment, but im still not able to. Ill be sure to let you know as soon as i find out.

 

I have the same module installed on my 95. Please excuse my dirty engine compartment. If you want a more detailed pic I can email it to you. Let me know. I did notice a significant difference in the performance of my vette since I installed this.

Wow... ok.. I finally get a real answer lol. Thanks Joeleal! I would like a more detailed pic. if that wouldnt be too much to ask. I have had this thing for about a month now and havent done anything with it for lack of a place to put the da**ed thing. My email is italian4ever2004@yahoo.com . And, btw, i think your car looks great. I think the C-5 rims add a nice accent to your color. I am thinking about gettin the 17x9.5/18x10.5 Black Z06 Rims package for mine. I think if you got the blackout kit for your fog lights and your tail lights, it would give your car the red on black look. I think it would be sweet. But thats just me. Anywho, thanks again.
