well my key fob has quite working my car is a 94 model i put a new battery in it and it will work when i push the bottons but it will not set the alarm or unlock the doors when i get near, is the key fob bad or do i need to try and program the car

 

Was that what it was doing before you changed the battery? If so, then you might have body control problems. Will research and get back to you.

 

The Passive Keyless Entry module controls your remote access and I'm afraid your going to have to have someone with a GM Tech 2 scanner diagnose your problem, the shotgun approach to fixing this one might get very expensive. Good Luck.

 

got it working i turned it off, i have found out how to turn it back on and it works good

 

I just bought a 94 and got the keyless entry trans online. I'm having the same problems. The hatch works and the doors work, but the alarm with not activate (beep) and deactivitate (beep) when I come with in 4 ft of the car. Is there somewhere where it can be turned off in the car? All I get is the lock doors, unlock doors and release the hatch. No sounds or horn. If I manually lock the doors and then reach in and unlock the doors and open and enter car the alarm will sound until the key is placed in iginition.

 

Question for BWALLACE2: Did you install an aftermarket keyless remote? If so, where did you purchase it and any problems with the install? I am looking for one for my 92. Thanks![
