I am looking to buy a 94 conv.white/white top with red leather,the car is in beautiful shape and the leather is in great shape as well. The top is in excellent condition and the rear window looks brand new. The car has 63k on and the only thing wrong that I can see is the drivers window tracks just a touch to high when putting it up at the front. There is a cross member on the bottom that looks like it has some oil on it and when the car is turned off you can faintly smell oil. The car drives straight and still pulls very hard, like I said the car is a 9 out of 10 and cosmetically perfect. It also has selective ride control "touring/sport/perf" with trac control as well. Just wondering what other things I should look for before buying this car. Many thanks in advance for any advice. Also was and LT4 and options on this vehicle or was the LT1 the onlyl engine that came with the car. Thanks again.

 

There is nothing in particular here, no Corvette specific items to look for: It is a low mileage, apparently well-kept car. But it is 14-15 years old. So, treat it as you would any car that age.
I'd check all hoses, belts, etc. (actually, I'd replace them regardless, but that's just me), and have a complete do-over of plug wires, gas line filters, etc. Expect any rubber to be a bit old and hard and prone to crack. At 65K miles, many cars enter a period where minor crap a failed water pump, a bad alternator, a leaking strut, seem to occur every month. Carefully and fully inspecting the car each weekend it takes only 15 minutes is a good habit to get into.

According to my book,the LT! was the only engine other than the LS5 in the ZR1's. The LT4 appeared in '96

Thanks guys much appriciated. I am looking forward to driving this car when the weather warms up just a touch. Funny, yesterday I was wearing shorts and a T-shirt, today I was wearing a jacket and pants all day and it was in the low 40's....guess that's Texas weather.
