can the MAF mass air flow sensor be fixed
and does any one know how to do it?

If they can be fixed, I've never heard of it. What kind of noise is it making? Have you checked to make sure something hasn't gotsucked up against the screen? Is it affecting the way the engine runs?

 

it is making a high pitch sound like steam coming out under high pressure

 

I think I had a problem like this in one of my camaro's it had the same engine as the corvette
it looks like I will have to buy the MAF for about $219.00 from zip products

do you know any good place to buy corvette parts that might be cheaper?

 

Another thought here,... are you sure it's not the pressure release valve on your AC blowing off?, it will do that if the systems head pressure gets too high. Is your radiator cooling fan coming on when you turn on the AC? Like I said...just a thought.

 

If it only makes the sound while engine running, check the intake boot on both sides to make sure the orings are still there and for proper seal. Sounds like its sucking air in.

 

What's up with the motor? Poor tune? Any codes lit up on the dash?

I don't think you oughtta' dump any cash yet, without knowin' for sure whatcha' got there...
