Default MSD Ignition!!!

I was wondering if anyone had installed an MSD 6A or 6AL ignition on their C4? I was thinking about purchasing one but when i asked a friend who is a mechanic about it, he told me that he would have some questions before he bought it if he were me. So i was just wondering if anyone had any luck with one. Thanks guys!

Matt

MSD ARE GREAT STUFF...I USE NOTHING BUT MSD ON MY DRAG CARS....AND THE GOOD THING ABOUT MSD IS IF SOME THING GOES BAD ON ANY OF THER UNITS THEY WILL REPARE IT.... SO YOU NEVER HAVE TO BUY A NOTHER ONE,,,, YOU WOULD WANT THE...MSD DIGITAL 6 PLUS,,,,,
6 OR 6AL.... THE 6 AL HAS A REV LIMITER IN IT,,,, THE 7A L IS FOR RACING ONLY..MSD ALSO HAS A

MSD is great stuff..I used the 6AL system on a 410hp chevy 350 in a 72 Chevelle SS i owned....It worked great and MSD stands behind their products..Make sure you get a matching coil for the box..A MSD Blaster is a good starting point...Another company you might want to check out is Jacobs Electronics, they make great stuff too and they have a wide variety of applications...Russ

I run a 6AL on my 69 Camaro with MSD coil and Pro billet distributor. Only had a couple of problems, the coil went out and now the pickup in the distributor is bad. Other than that no problems with th 6AL.

One of the things my friend asked was if the computer controlled the fuel injection or something like that. He said that he didnt know if it would matter that my motor is FI and not Carb. I dont know if that has anything to do with it or if i am getting the story mixed up a bit. But thats what i got from his questions... Anyway, you guys have all told me that you use the 6AL on other types of motors or cars... has anyone used it on the LT1? Thanks for the replies guys

should work on an LT1, just needs a trigger, same one that fires the LT1 coil. All the box does is trigger the coil multiple times on each cylinder compression stroke, hence the name Multiple Spark Discharge (MSD). [8D]
