Default New C4 Owner's father needs schooling

The daughter just came home with a '91 Vette and since I'll probably wind up being the one keeping it on the road, perhaps you gearheads can tell me what we've got here? The VIN number starts out 1G1YY3387M5xxxxxx. I know nothing about the history of this model or year so perhaps I can be enlightened. All I know is that it's a one ownerrag top with an automatic transmission and 107K miles. She seems to think it was worth $7000 butmy jury is still out on this one. (at least it's the right color, see avatar)

I think that's a good price. I bought a 86L for $6,500 with 82k miles on the clock, it passed smog.
Enjoy your Vette!

I got my 1990 coupe for $7300. It had 86k miles. Hope the weatherstripping is okay. I had to replace mine. Not too bad a job though. It is expected at 18 years old.

I'd say it was an OK price. The L98 engine is pretty robust and with normal maintenance 107K isn't anything to be concerned with, there are examples running around with 200K without major issues. Interior pieces can mean $$$$ seat covers, carpet, etc, as mentioned the weatherstripping can be $$$ as well. Never had a Vert so I can't judge about a new top, but can only imagine that they aren't cheap either. Basically you have a 17 year old Chevy.
