Question New to forum

84 crossfire starting issues.
Issue with the carbs flooding cylinders.
Car will start briefly when dry cylinders, then floods with injectors spraying fuel into port opening. (Flap closed)
Symptom when last driven was an acceleration of idle then a decline, pulsing.

Welcome to the forum. Do the injectors spray fuel with the key on and engine off? Are there any codes set?

I retried observing the injectors as the car was started.
First injectors spray as ignition is turned on to start, its starts and then quits as the injectors over saturate the pistons.

So far as codes : i applied the shorting wire which gave me no results. Dash didn’t indicate any light changes.

any recommendations for OBD1 tester?

Most auto parts stores like O'Reilly and AutoZone will scan for codes for free. I'm not sure injectors should be spraying with the key on and engine not running. Is that what you were saying it was doing?

What i meant when i said it continues to spray fuel , is that the starter is cranking and the engine seems to loose ignition spark? Just not understanding why I’m loosing run condition after the initial start.
