I have not owned a Corvette since the late sixties and last drove a 1965 convertible.... over 50 years ago.
Anyhow I have a few cars in my collection but just acquired my first C4.... A 1988 base Coupe with TPI and automatic trans.
It was bought from the original owners and is MINT..... EXCEPT like many Vettes it hasn't been started in 5 years. My plan is to remove the fuel pump and inspect or replace. Pump out as must old gas as possible and take a look inside the fuel tank. Blow out the fuel lines and the injector rail and see what trickles out. Remove plugs and spray down the cylinders. Check for coolant and good oil (probably change). Bump the motor a turn or two on the starter and barring any horrible sounds try and fire it up after reassembly. Any tips or tricks ?
If it runs and I am pretty sure it will- brakes, radiator and hoses are next in line. The instrument display lights up and I am hoping that is ok too.
It was stored in a dry heated building so that will help.
