normal LT1 oil temp...
Anyone know what it is?
My guage is barely off ofthe '0' peg (190?), even with 90 on the thermometer, and the AC blowin'. There's a little oil temp fluctuation from idle to 50 mph cruise speed. Pressure looks great. Temp is botherin' me tho'; I'm used to the old L98 at around 220 - 226 degrees.
Thanks.

RE: normal LT1 oil temp...
My oil temp runs abuot 185 or thereabouts with the coolant temp at about 174. The gauges don't reflect this, however. They both seem to read lowerthan the real temps.I normally use the digital readoutsfrom the driver's information center and change them every so often from oil to temp. Use the average fuel readout a lot, too. Gets to be a fun challenge to see how high it willgo on a trip. Got it up to 34 mpg once though it usually is about 29-31.5 on the highway. Anyway, to recap, I have found both gauges read low. You could replace the sending units but I can't see that being necessary from what you have said.

Thanks beau...
I guess my #'s (and guages) aren't strayin' too far from where they should be...
I'm with ya' on the fuel #'s too, on trips - I did a 26 mile stretch on US70 two weeks ago, at 64 mph. When I got to dad's house, it wason the topside of32 (untuned). I'll get over it!

well some poepleI knowahave had them to 260( on hot track days, or hard running)but I believe its 20* cooler than the actual temp of the oil if I remember correctly NBDalthoughI would be happy to see those #'s on a 100+ track day....lol
