Oil Pressure Guage-new problem
Morning All! Well, it looks like the weather is finally changing in Utah and I will soon have to park my '85 for the winter. But, as long as I the weather is decent I will continue to drive it.
Anyway, I have a new problem that began this past weekend. My oil pressure guage constantly reads 80 psi. When you flip to the oil temperature it reads within normal range. I think normal oil pressure for my car is between 45 and 50 psi (as far as I've noticed). I think the book said 30-40 was usually normal for the car. The book (owner's manual) says that if it is "out of normal range" there would be a read bar indicating it was not normal.
My husband wiggled the sensor the the pressure guage and it started to work like it should, but this morning on the way to work, it went back to 80. The car drives like normal. It doesn't overheat or anything.
Anyone have this kind of problem? Do I need to just buy a new sensor and hope that's the culprit?
Thanks for your help,
Michelle
