Default Oil Temperature Gauge

Hi, Can anyone tell me what the oil temperature shoud read on a 1992 vet, I don't think mine is working because it barely gets off the zero setting. Should it give you a code if it is not working?

Usually stays pretty close to the coolant temps; maybe a few degrees warmer... except summer stop 'n' go - maybe 10' - 15' warmer.

Are you talking the digital read out or the analog gauge?

The analog gauge barelymoves fromits starting point, butI have checked for codes, maybe a bad sensor but don't have any codes.

I wouldn't be overly concerned. Mine on my 92 doesn't move much at all either. That digital gauge is a lot more accurate anyway.
