Default Oil Temperature Sender Leak

Hey Y'all. I am new here. I know a little about these cars. I have been fixing several things on my car. I've replaced the Alternator, Belt, cleaned grounds, changed trans filter/fluid, changed injectors, replaced the fuel filter. My car is getting better. But there is a problem........

I am wondering if there is a trick or logical way to get to the oil temp sender? I have oil temp variations and my "Change Oil" light won't turn off. There is an oil "spray" or misting from that area. I am going to change the gaskets on the oil filter adapter, so I decided to change the sender while I am there.

I have checked the FSM. I found info on pages 6-E-3, 6A1-B-10, 6-E3-A-6. However, none of these pages give me really great info. I don't want to remove the engine. I suppose when I take out the oil filter adapter I can better reach the sender? Does anyone have any tips, cheats, fixes, or really good guesses? I'd appreciate the help.

UPDATE***** Once you take the oil filter out, reach up between the driver's floor and over the Catalytic Converter to reach the Sender/Sensor. The Wire harness was easy to reach. A 3/4" ratcheting wrench was great. I'll figure a way to get the correct torque setting. ***UPDATE*****

Regards,
Darth Vetter

Thanks for updating. Did this sort you the issues with the oil temp variations and leaking?
