One thing i will add is REPLACE THE COIL WIRE!!!!!!!!!!
I have seen a lot of LT1 problems that seemed to be Optispark issues that really were just a bad coil wire.
Thecoil wire can go open & will work as a RPM limiter, engine will run up to about 4000 RPM & not go any faster.
The coil is worked pretty hard on this system, and if the coil wire is a problem the coil cannot keep up.

 

I'll pick up a new coil tomarro when I get the new water pump. Any how got the darned thing off, Another question, what grade of oil should my Opti be filled with? Mine looked suspiciuosly like 5W30 Mobile One. Just kidding, found that the shaft seals were hard as a rock. Broke into peices coming off. Must have allowed oil to follow the shaft in. Already replaced them. I cleaned the inside of the distriutor with CRC electronics cleaner, It was covered in oil, figured that should work. Also found all the vacuum lines are soft and spongy, be replacing all them. Now I'm just starting to rant to slow my return to the garage. Thanks again for all the support, Hope it starts. Wow, Got it done at 2200hrs last night, I was amazed it fired right up, easier than it ever started before. About half a crank and Vooom. Praise GOD and thanks Lee. I've always did my own work on my vehicles but never messed with one of these things. It will be much easier next time. Thanks again for the advice.
