I just bought a 1993 and in traffic it overheats and starts running bacd, almost to the point it stalls. when not in traffic it starts to cool. it gets almost to 245 or so.....I have no check engine light or other indications..... can someone help??? I am new to vettes ....thanks.... Todd
Have you burped the engine using the bleeder screws? You probably at least need to do a flush then burp it andthen burp it some more.

Guy's on the hose blowing deal.
Blow from the fan side out or vice versa?
That's garden hose, larry. Get a garden hose, blowin' through the radiator fins. Feel free to go from the outside in, toward the engine if you'd like, just to make sure that jam is in there good and tight.

And feel free to askabout anything else that ain't clear.

If it's loping up and down - 200 rpm's about, it's a vacuum leak. Fire problem is possible, butextremely unlikely.

Leaks develop in TPI's everywhere from the IAC at the throttle body, to the intake manifold/cylinder head junction. You might be able to find the leak with a can of startin fluid, sprayin' around where parts meet up, like the throttle body/ intake plenum, intake manifold/intake runners. The recommended way is with a propane can, UNlit, as described in the article:
https://www.corvetteforums.com/m_37283/tm.htm
page 22 (4 of 7)post.

You gotta raise the RPM's before the test, to get a steady RPM. THEN, you will find the leak. Read the whole article too.

ibelew is re-doin' his intake now... I'd like to know what he's got workin' now...
