Default Is it possible to disable the ASR on a 91 Corvette?

The brake pads were changed and now the brakes apply themselves every now and then. Is there a way to disable the ASR until I can get it to a city (chevy dealer)? please help!

Hello.....are you sure it's a '91??? The reason I ask is the ASR was first introduced in 1992,with the LT-1.....if you do have a '91,you don't have it....it was not ever offered with the L-98.Or are you reffering to the ABS system?? It's possible you can disable it,but why?? It's a great safety feature....it does help in a few situations.....trust me;tried it a couple of times. But the '91 Vette does not have ASR....hope this helps you,my friend...Joe

If anything, check your brake lines, they may be worn and prone to fail.Upgrade to stainless steel lines if you're able. Also, the calipers themselves may need to be rebuilt or replaced. How about your rotors?? Are they up to spec?? Do they need to be re-surfaced or replaced? Again,if you can,now may be the time to upgrade your braking system....remember,we may have one of the fastest cars on God's earth, but if it won't stop better than it goes,we're in for a LOT of trouble!!! Keep me posted, will ya??? Safety first!!! God Bless you and yours.....a friend,Joe.
