My fuel economy is excellent, no complaints there. I use Sunoco 94 all the time. I think you said that my valve seals are weakening.

If you get a puff of blueish white smoke when you 1st start it, it's valve guides. Worn guides over time cause the oil to seep down the valve stem into the combustion chamber overnight and worse case when you park and restart. When you see the smoke, the oil is burning off the piston initially and then clears up.
