Do the rear wheel struts rods have an effect on wheel alignment and should they be checked for bushings and bents/straightness ??

I want to get a wheel alignment done on an 84 and am wondering about replacing the rear wheel strut rods but I'm wondering do they get bent and need replacing ...

 

They are adjustable so the camber and toe in can be adjusted on the rear. [8D]
