Default Remove and Replace 1985 Fuel Line

I'm not going to say that I've contacted every single dealer or aftermarket GM parts dealer but I can pretty much say that a "pre-bent" fuel line for a 1985 Corvette is not to be found ANYWHERE! My choices? 1. Have a local mechanic fabricate the fuel line entirely from intake to gas filler neck. 2. Remove the old one that is currently still on the car (with 1 inch gash just south of the filter) and send it in to www.inlinetube.com so that they may fabricate a new one with fittings.

If I go with #1 it will involve towing the "project car" to a garage where the owner will be anxious to get it out of his shop because it's taking up space.

If I go with #2 I will need to remove the old fuel line.

I have decided to go with #2; I've removed about 5 clamps that hold the fuel line to the frame rails but now i've reach an impasse. The fuel line seems to go upward over the axel near the rear end of the car; How do I detach this fuel line? What can I expect? Do I need to gain access from INSIDE the car? Do I need to remove the license plate, rear lights, rear bumper to get at these lines?

Thanks for your suggestions; sorry for being verbose.

Seems you can get flexible aftermarket line maybe as cheap as gettin' new line fabbed...

OR, you might be able to contour some straight line to fit the current clamp locations. I did it once with some pretty tight compound curves for an old jeep, and did it without a single kink. Might be a tiny bit more challenge for the vette tho'.

Go to local parts shop, get a short piece, and see how tight you can pull a curve into it, then you might decide to do the whole line. I think the connectors would be more of a challenge than the contours...

Why not just replace the effected section. You can get fittings and flare the tubbing or use hose and double clamps. Unless you just want to do it in one piece. Good luck with it . Cheers
