Default sensitive Gas pedal

Hi there
Has any one experienced this or is it normal. I have a 87 C4 and the accelerator pedal seems awfully sensitive. The car has a bigger bore Thottle Body and a high speed chip. You just have to touch the pedal lightly and you take off like a rocket. I do not have a problem but my wife and kid have lead feet and when they start off it is always neck jerking fast.
Tanks Mike
