Default Smells Rich, Bogs, and Stalls once Warm.

Smells Rich, Bogs, and Stalls once Warm. Will restart and drive, but will stall shortly after being allowed to idle.

‘89 6 spd sat for most of last 20 years with 37k mi. Before driving again, replaced tires, all fluids, cap, rotor, plugs, wires, filters, belt, and hoses. Car ran great for 1k miles. Then developed this problem. Since the problem surfaced I’ve replaced the IAC valve, fuel pump, and FPR. No improvement.

Thinking next steps are fuel injectors then CATs. Anyone experience this or have a definite solution for me?

Welcome to the forum. Have you checked fuel pressures? Check w/ key on engine off, running, and then after shut down w/ key off.

Never checked fuel pressure, but the problem has been reduced significantly by switching out the fuel injectors. No more rich smell or bogging, but it has stalled a few times when coming to a stop. However, was getting to the point it would stall at nearly every stop before replacing the injectors.

I had I had a 87 IROC-Z that did exactly that. It would start but would hardly move until it got up to about 25 to 30 miles per hour and then it would just be like normal. Turned out it was the fuel pump in the tank. So therefore I would recommend you do check your fuel pressure. Check it with the key on and engine off, with the engine running, and then see how long it holds the pressure with the engine off. Harbor Freight sells a fuel pressure gauge for about $25 to $30.
