There are some good suggestions here. Everyone who drives a sweet car like a polished Corvette has to take some precautions. Since this happened at work, you may not have much control of all situations, but have you looked around to see if there could be any security cameras near where your car was parked? There are security camera everywhere. It is very possible that the incident was recorded. Check it out. Next, can you park closer to a known security camera or in an area where the vandal would be seen? You want to catch this SOB, if he realy is after you, to prevent this from happening again.
I know this is a real PITA, but pay your deductable and get the hood repaired and repainted professionally. Body shops are usually very good at matching paint now. If they can't match, it's up to the insurance company to paint the entire car. One thing you may learn is that your own insurance company mayscrew you more than the vandal did. Did you report this to the police and insurance company?
Sorry for your loss. Get it repaired and move on.

 

Im surprised no one else bought that up. it sure put a smile on my face. i have used this technic on both metal and fiberglass with good results but i would only recommend it for small scratches.
